Seller Love Letter

Dear Potential New Homeowners,

As I sit down to express my feelings about leaving 101 Colgett, I find myself overwhelmed with a rush of nostalgia and gratitude. For the past fifteen years, this home has been more than just a place to live; it has been the backdrop to countless cherished memories, a sanctuary of comfort and love, and the anchor of stability in my life.

I will forever cherish the memories of sitting in the garden, surrounded by the fragrance of fruit trees, watching the sunset paint the sky with hues of orange and pink. I don't think if I lived here for 50 years I would ever grow tired of the view! The breathtaking vista that greeted me each morning served as a reminder of the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. The fourth of July became a special holiday for us as we gathered in front of the picture window to watch tens of thousands of fireworks set off across Oakland.

Every corner of the home holds a memory of my children growing up. The nursery doorway where we measured their height and marked it with a pencil every year. The kitchen where we made plum, peach, and fig jams from our fruit harvest. The sidewalk in front where they learned to ride their bikes. I can see them as toddlers running through the backyard sprinklers on a hot day.

The proximity to parks added an element of adventure and tranquility to our daily lives, offering endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation. I enjoyed retreating to the forest with my dog for a long hike, biking the trails, and swimming at Roberts Park pool. My son misses being close to Chabot Space and Science Center, where we would often go for telescope viewings.

So, as I bid farewell to this place that has been my sanctuary for so long, I want to express my hope that another family will love it as much as I have. I am incredibly thankful to have had this home providing me with a haven of love and warmth, and for allowing me to create a lifetime of memories within its walls. Though I may be leaving this house behind, its spirit will always remain a part of me.
